‘What is REAL?’ asked the Rabbit one day, ‘Does it mean having things that buzz inside you and a stick-out handle?’

‘Real isn’t how you are made,’ said the Skin Horse. ‘It’s a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.’

Did I go on adventures this summer? Yes!
Did I take photos to document its awesomeness? I did!
Did I procrastinate to post? Of course!

A friend and I went on a mid-summer adventure around Makati in search for good ramen around the city. After much internet searching, the plan was to head to Little Tokyo in Pasong Tamo. We didn’t get to eat ramen but had fun getting lost and being spontaneous anyway.

Really legit Japanese place (and only place open at 12noon!) but we couldn’t afford the food at the time so we walked to the Collective. It was such a long, tiring walk under the heat of the sun!! When we finally got there, the place looked so abandoned…probably because we were there midday.

I got one of those metal straws while my friend got a bar of Theo & Philo Artisan Dark Chocolate as a souvenir for the adventure. Yay! AT THAT POINT I WAS SO HUNGRY I WOULD HAVE EATEN ANYTHING. Great thing we chanced upon Wabi Sabi, a noodle house & vegetarian grocery! Totally meant to be!

I got the Pho since they were out of ramen. :(

Then we went home.

I don’t know how to end this.

1. Here I am trying to convince myself that I am ok when clearly I am lost, again. Lost in the vast vague plain in between the crossroads of reason and desire.

Be here;
in between imagination & reality;
listening to sound & silence;
in this that is the now

3. So much life is happening right now without anything really happening. I don’t understand it either. Its like standing in the middle of a crowded train station observing people pass by but also knowing you’re part of the whole unmoving/moving experience that is life.

4. Why can’t I appreciate this the way they do?
It is not that I know more or that I am smarter but maybe because I was exposed to such occurrences in an early age that I have become numb into thinking that someone better will come along anyway. I feel as if early and frequent exposure to such conversation screwed me up in such a way that I didn’t  know any better. I didn’t know the right answers nor did I understand the questions. The trouble is that I was exposed at an age too early to understand that what other people (and I use other loosely) may think is not the ultimate answer and that their questions shouldn’t have been my questions. I ultimately, I am at fault for not understanding my own situation. And I must realise I am wandering/wondering still lost just as they are.

"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it."
